December 31, 2024
Dear Softball Players,
I hope this letter finds you safe and healthy. Believe it or not, it is that time of year again to begin registration for our 2025 Senior Softball League.
Enclosed you will find the registration form. You will also find an optional information form that will be used to put your information on our web site, if you choose to do so. We included a Team Sponsorship Form. If you know of someone who may be interested in sponsoring a team for the 2025 season, please pass along the information.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FEES POSTMARKED BY FEBRUARY 7, 2025 WILL ONLY BE $60 FOR ONE LEAGUE AND $90 FOR BOTH LEAGUES. Of course, you can wait until February 8-March 11, 2025 but fees will be $65 for one league and $95 for both. Registration is broken into three categories: 48 and Over League, 56 and Over League, and Both. If you are 56 and over (you qualify if you turn 56 by 12/31/25), you are eligible to be on a team in both of the leagues. Registration deadline is March 11, 2025. Spots are limited so register early.
IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind, per League Rules; we will only accept a maximum of 84 players for the 56+ League and 78 players for the 48+ League to fill six teams on each league. Depending on how quickly registrations are returned, the teams may be filled prior to the deadline date. Returning players are only guaranteed a spot if they register by the Early Bird deadline date. A waiting list will be formed for both leagues. Players will remain on that list until enough registrations come in to create another team or if a player drops out or can no longer play due to injury. Players will be placed on the waiting list in the order they are received.
Those wishing to be managers MUST indicate that on the registration form and register by the Early
Bird deadline date (February 7th) to be considered for that position. All managers will be approved by
the commissioners and Senior Center Director. Only those who are in good standing and have been
part of our league for at least 2 years will be considered. They must also attend a manager’s meeting.
Note: When it comes to choosing managers, those playing may be chosen first and then those now playing may be considered.
We have several convenient ways to pay your registration fees: Check, Cash, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. You may also use the option of registering on our website at http://HTOsports.com/etsacsoftball and paying with PayPal. There will be a $2 processing fee added to your registration for this option.
Practice will be every Monday & Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. beginning April 2, 2025. Our Manager’s and Player’s Rules Meeting is on Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00 p.m. for all players and managers in the gymnasium at the Family Center. The league games are scheduled to begin the week of May 5, 2025 and will play through the month of August. It is highly recommended that new players attend at least one preseason practice. This is a huge help when it comes to the draft.
Due to building project at the East Toledo Family Center, the 2025 season will be played in Walbridge OH at Railway Park and/or Loop Park. The City of Walbridge is being very generous to the East Toledo Senior Center Softball League.
We will end the season with tournaments for both leagues. The banquet and awards night will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Center.
Thank you to our commissioners for their time, patience and efforts in making this another successful season. The volunteer commissioners for this season are , Rick Moulton, Mark Murphy, Rich McGee, Kim Crosby and Patrick Henry.
I would like to remind players as they register for the ETSC Softball League that the purpose of the league is:
1. Athletic programs at the East Toledo Family Center/Senior Center are recreational leagues, where participation for all players, regardless of skill level, is the primary objective. Our goal is to provide a positive, organized athletic experience.
2. To provide an opportunity for socialization and to build new friendships.
3. To improve range of motion and health.
There are highly competitive leagues available, but the East Toledo Family Center’s focus is not on competition, nor will it be in the future. I look forward to seeing you in the spring as we start our 30th
season.
Sincerely,
Brenda Holdren
